The raised rim runs continuously around the perimeter, giving cats and small dogs a surface to rest their head and neck against — the position most associated with deeper, more relaxed sleep. The interior nest shape encourages curling in, which retains body warmth without requiring additional heating. The long-pile plush exterior and PP cotton fill compress slightly under weight and spring back between uses, maintaining the bed's shape over time.
The base is Oxford fabric — a tighter, more durable weave than the plush upper, which keeps the bed stable on hard floors and low-pile rugs and adds a moisture barrier between the fill and the surface below. The entire bed is machine washable.

Is it truly machine washable?
Yes — the entire bed including the Oxford base is machine washable. Wash on a gentle cycle with cold water and tumble dry on low, or air dry flat. The plush pile and PP cotton fill recover their shape once fully dry.
Does the base prevent slipping on hard floors?
The Oxford fabric base provides meaningful friction on hard floors and low-pile rugs. On very smooth surfaces such as polished stone or tiles, some movement may occur — placing the bed in a corner or against furniture will prevent this.
Is this suitable for cats that like to knead before settling?
Yes — the long-pile plush and soft PP cotton fill respond well to kneading and compression without losing their structure. The raised rim gives cats a surface to push against while settling.
